1. What we use
CampusGive uses only technically necessary cookies and browser storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not share browsing data with ad networks.
2. Categories
- Strictly necessary — authentication. Your signed-in session (access and refresh tokens) is stored in your browser’s local storage by our authentication provider. Without it you would be signed out on every page load. Kept until you sign out or the session expires.
- Strictly necessary — security. Short-lived values used to complete sign-in, email verification and password reset flows.
- Functional preferences. Local storage entries that remember your language, light/dark theme, whether you dismissed the “add to home screen” prompt, the invite/referral nudge, and a pending invite code from a “?ref=” link. These stay on your device.
- Progressive web app. If you install CampusGive to your home screen, a service worker caches application files so the app loads offline-first. It does not track you.
- No analytics or advertising cookies. Should we ever introduce analytics, we will ask for your consent first.
3. Third-party requests
When you open the map or search an address, requests are sent to third-party map and geocoding providers. These providers can see your IP address and the query. They do not set advertising cookies on our behalf.
4. How to control cookies and storage
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Because the authentication entries are strictly necessary, blocking them will sign you out and prevent you from using the platform. You can also disable push notifications at any time from your profile or your browser’s site settings.
5. Consent
Strictly necessary storage does not require consent. For everything else we ask for your agreement when you create an account or when this policy changes, and you can withdraw it at any time.
